Note. The channels numbers below refer to the old WimpAnn, these have been changed now.
The following annihilation channels are used in WimpAnn:
Channel number | Particles |
1 | c c-bar |
2 |
b b-bar |
3 | t t-bar |
4 | tau+ tau- |
5 | W+ W- |
6 | Z0 Z0 |
12 | g g |
14 | u u-bar |
15 | s s-bar |
16 | nu_e nu_e-bar |
17 | nu_mu nu_mu-bar |
18 | nu_tau nu_tau-bar |
19 | d d-bar |
If you run WimpAnn, you will have an even wider choice of annihilation channels, but the extra channels (mainly involving Higgs bosons) are not suitable for general simulations as they depend on a particular particle physics model. In general it is better to calculate the yields from these more complex channels from the ones above later when the particle physics model has been specified (this is how it is done in DarkSUSY). In our large sets of simulations, channel 1-6, 12 and 16-18 have been simulated (the lighter quarks give so few neutrinos that they can be neglected).
